What is Kinetic Awareness?

Kinetic Awareness, originally developed by Elaine Summers, is a system of body discovery that brings and explores our mind-body connections and attitudes. This is done by lying in different positions on graduated rubber balls. The pressure that is created by the weight of the body on the ball releases tension, like a massage. The experience of lying on the balls is deepened with slow and specific movements. Through these movements, you will gain insight and sensitivity about how our body/mind operates. As you advance you will become more efficient by learning to let go of unnecessary effort and energy for movement.
